Liverpool 2 - o Reading

Kuyt 14 ,73

Kuyt was the man of the day with one great well worked team goal and a second poachers goal from 3 yards out. Thats 5 goals for the season now and he's soon proving to be a great signing. Maybe not an all singing all dancing result but 3 points none the less. Hopefully all this rubbish about Gerard leaving will stop now, he loves Liverpool, there's a clause in his contract saying he is not allowed to leave. The clubs to personal and too much a part of him, his cousin died at Hilsborough supporting Liverpool, he would never leave.

Liverpool are slowly improving but i think what happens on Sunday will be a real indication of how our season will pan out. Arsenal will be a tough game and after their defeat to Weat Ham they will be desperate to prove a point. Whats more is Liverpool are away, and our away form is really poor, 9th in the Premiership is indicationof that. If Liverpool loose the seasons over and in the words of Liverpool legend Bill Shankly: 'If you are first you are first, if you are second you are nothing.'

Tonight we play Birmingham in the Carling Cup, the team we thrashed 7 - 0 in the F.A Cup last season. I fancy another 2 - 0 win but if we loose it won't be a huge blow. Plus some new boys are starting for Liverpool like Danny Guthriew who so far has been really impressive. So lets see what happens.

Saturdays Goals, It freezes at the end but at least you get to see the goals.

Liverpool 3 - 0 Bordeaux

Result, just what the Doc ordered!

Garcia 23, 76 Gerrard 73

Benitez finally decides not to change the formation and Liverpool win three nothing and Gerrard scores his first goal of the 06/07 season.

This says it all really, for 99 consecutive games Benitez changed the formation and when he keeps the same team that played Villa at the weekend we but on a performance.
Highlights in the video below, in a language i don't expect anybody to understand but highlights all the same.

Great strikes form Garcia but check out the headbutt on Riise. I always thought he was made of iron but that headbutt looked nasty. Also Garcia has bin linked with Lazio in the Italian press. He been spot on for Liverpool this season and pretty consistent since he's been at Anfield.

In other news looks like work on the new ground, Stanley Park, will begin in the spring.
Reason for this being that the 9 million European regeneration money has a clause in it saying the ground needs to be completed by the end of 2008 or Brussels will ask for the money back.
Liverpool V's Reading on Saturday at half four.
